Practice makes perfect

Alex has been obsessed with Halloween since last year when he fully understood it was about candy. (His favorite word after chocolate, ice cream and cake.) Even with Christmas and Easter, Alex still asked when Halloween was coming again. All year, in anticipation, he would convince Anna to go door-to-door "trick or treating," sometimes in costume and sometimes not. This game involves going up to the beginning of someone’s walkway and pretending to pick up candy from an invisible bowl. He even has make-believe conversations with the people “handing” out the candy. I think it might be a long October. But at least he'll be well-rehearsed for October 31.

Good for Alex for practicing before the big day. Avery (then 20 months) wasn't prepared at all for trick or treating last year. He got into the putting stuff in his pumpkin about 3 days after the fact and then for the next few weeks.

That's too funny! Sarah has been asking "is it Halloween time yet?" since last week. You're right, it could be a long month. WTG ALex for practicing!

I should get Wyatt to practice... he's not been trick-or-treating yet, but I'm sure he'll have no trouble getting down the concept once he finds out it's about C-A-N-D-Y. Thank goodness he can't spell yet. Or read for that matter!

BTW, your kids are so adorable.
